Travelers’ Cheques in all currencies can be exchanged into local currency, Belarusian Rubles, free of charge at branches of major Fee free exchange partners in Minsk. Beware that Travelers’ Cheques in British pounds can be purchased solely in Minsk Transit Bank - 40, Nezavisimosti Ave. Purchase of Travelers’ Cheques in currencies other than USD, EURO, GBP are not common.

In July 2005 a new product appeared in Belarus – American Express Secure Funds Cheques with Belarus becoming the 4th country on the globe offering this kind of cheques.

Foreigners may legally carry out of Belarus Travelers’ Cheques without even having to declare them at customs. Travelers’ Cheques are not accepted for retail payments but can easily be encashed in hundreds of banks’ branches countrywide.
